On Wednesday, December 27, 2023, in Lagos, Akeredolu allegedly passed away.
His age was sixty-seven.
It was learned that because State House physicians were unable to send Akeredolu abroad because to his illness, they were caring for him right up until his death.

Following the scandal surrounding his prolonged medical vacation in Germany, Akeredolu has come home.
After that, he moved back to his Ibadan home, which sparked more political unrest in his state, particularly involving Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the deputy governor.
Following President Tinubu’s intervention, Akeredolu transferred authority to his deputy and left on yet another medical leave of absence.
